Alternative systems for an energy turnaround: Electric transmission lines with underground high-voltage cables

In the years to come, substantial construction works will be required for ensuring the electricity supply throughout Germany. Underground laying of high-voltage cables in precast concrete units can decisively contribute to a sustainable and ecologically sound solution, in particular, where power lines would affect residential areas or landscapes desever-ing protection. This may lead to a social consensus which may contribute to the rapid implementation of this major infrastruc-tural task.
