摘要:
The formation of epitaxial Cu2O islands on a Cu(100) surface through oxidizing Cu(100) films in an ultrahigh vacuum transmission electron microscope was observed. These Cu2O islands undergo a shape transition from square shape islands to elongated islands at a critical size of ∼ 110 nm. The observations of a surface chemical reaction in which the nanorod transitions occured, were reported and the elastic strain relief model was demonstrated.
