摘要
Multilayer diamond-like carbon coatings with different modulation ratio are successfully fabricated on the steel substrate by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition. The microstructure, mechanical properties, tribological performance and corrosion resistance of multilayer diamond like carbon (DLC) coatings are investigated by field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), atomic force microscope(AFM), nano-indenter, CSM tribometer and electrochemical station, respectively. Results show that multilayer DLC coating had smooth surface, dense microstructure and good adhesion between the coating and substrate. As a comparison with other coatings, the coating with modulation ratio 1:1 is optimal, and it has higher hardness, elastic modulus and critical load to inhibit the crack initiation. In addition, the coating also exhibits lower wear rate after tribological test and higher impedance value after 720 h of salt spray test. It can be concluded from the above results that the coating with modulation ratio 1:1 has excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance. © 2018 Journal of Mechanical Engineering.
