Research on the response surface restructure method and its application in the reliability analysis

Usually it is very difficult to get an analytical expression of the limit state equation in the reliability analysis for the stability of underground tunnels. Therefore, on the basis of a numerical simulation, some methods for the response surface restructure are established, which can simulate the reliability problems with the closely formed performance function in the practical engineering. The application of the rational polynomial technique and the neural network scheme in response surface method are mainly discussed, and the comparison with the two kinds of response surface methods is also made. Some analytical results show that the methods have good efficiency and accuracy.
