摘要
A different time domain reflectrometry (TDR) instrument was developed using sequentially superimposed step pulse trains as excitation signals. This paper proposed use of a triangular-wave pulse to replace the conventional step pulse TDR-instrument toward improving soil water content determination. The theoretical analysis, which included the frequency domain characteristic of the soil probe and the experimental results demonstrated the feasibility of the proposed method. This measurement approach can significantly reduce the power consumption of the avalanche transistor used, thereby increasing the measurement efficiency.
