Criteria catalogue for additives in diesel fuel (lubricity additives and MDFI/WASA) for refinery use

Refineries additise diesel fuel with lubricity additives and/or MDFI/WASA additives in order to comply with the requirements of DIN EN 590 regarding lubricity and cold-flow properties, respectively. There are a number of different criteria catalogues that are used for testing these additives and for avoiding undesirable side effects. As part of DGMK Project 787, these criteria catalogues were revised and amalgamated to produce the present research report. This was regarded as necessary because the testing standards have been revised in the meantime and also the some of the criteria were not based on standardised procedures and have now been replaced by standardised methods. Furthermore, the revision also included harmonisation of the test criteria for which different test methods had previously been defined depending on the criteria catalogue. This report thus replaces the previous criteria catalogues.
