Operation of electric arc furnace for steel smelting is considered. Various steels including St1sp and St2sp are produced in the furnace. It has been modernized in order to improve its efficiency. Automation system has been supplied by German 'Siemens AG' company. Mechanic equipment, sensors, and auxiliary devices have been supplied by Russian 'SibElektroTerm' company. In automation system, industrial server for collecting the data from programmable logic controllers and information transmission to visualization system is used. This makes it possible to save energy.
