In high-power applications, to reduce the current stress and loss of LLC converter, multi-phase LLC converters are often operated in parallel. Since the gain of the LLC resonant converter is very sensitive to the parameters of component, the current sharing problem is caused by the inconsistency of component parameters between phases in parallel operation. To solve the problem, an automatic current sharing method is proposed, which realizes automatic current sharing between phases by connecting fully coupled inductors in series in each resonant tank of the multiphase LLC resonant converter. The AC equivalent circuit model of the resonant circuit based on coupled inductor was established, the influence of the coupling coefficient of the coupled inductor on voltage gain was analyzed, the relationship between the inductance of coupled inductor and current sharing effect was deduced, and the design method of coupled inductor was given. Finally, an experimental prototype of 48 V input and 400 V/1 000 W output was built, and the correctness of the theoretical deduction and the effectiveness of the proposed method are verified by simulation and experiments. © 2020, Harbin University of Science and Technology Publication.
