According to analysis of the starting characteristic of medium voltage induction motor and the comparison on PID control and fuzzy control, this paper presents a design method of medium voltage induction motor soft starting based on fuzzy PD control, measuring input current though DSP2812 controller, Fuzzy control and PD control are used in the different phases of starting process according to the value of input current.
