Connecting a digital twin to its associated cyber-physical system improves system knowledge and supports effective operation. The presented reference architecture includes a service component that manages different services to optimize process quality. Two exemplary services illustrate the potential of this reference architecture. A model-driven approach with design and runtime models is used to increase the level of abstraction. © 2024 Walter de Gruyter GmbH.
