The genomatic data is presented to make Pseudomonas fluorescens, a common soil bacterium more useful. This soil bacterium is used in bioremediation of petroleum hydrocarbons and other toxic materials and for protecting agricultural crop plants from fungal diseases. Pseudomonas fluorescens model should be useful in using genetic engineering and other methods to generate more efficient strains for bioremediation and crop protection.
