摘要
Continuous temperature measurements are a constant concern in the foundry. They serve to track the evolution of the baths and avoid overheating, and to regulate the heating power, especially over weekends. The continuous temperature measurement is generally made using a thermocouple, with which there are two difficulties. One is the evolution of the termocouple over time, which is even faster at high temperatures. The other is the aggressiveness of the molten metal with respect ta the thermocouples, which must be protected by sheaths made of inert or at least resistant materials. CTIF has considered these two points, examining the potential of inert sheaths made of ceramics and evaluating another temperature measurement technology, infrared pyrometry.
