摘要
Integration of large-scale wind power generation presents larger frequency deviations in power systems. Pumped storage generators play an important role in regulating wind power variations as for their rapid response and control flexibility. In order to address the increased frequency deviations introduced by short time wind power fluctuation, a robust control strategy for pumped storage generators was presented in this paper. A state space model of the entire power system was derived and characteristics of wind power variations and hydraulic system dynamics of pumped storage power plant were considered in this model. Then, the H∞-based robust controller was synthesized using the linear matrix inequality (LMI) method. The IEEE 39-bus test system was used to verify the performance of the proposed control strategy. Simulation results indicate that this robust control design significantly reduces the system frequency deviations and enable the pumped storage generators more responsive to wind power variations. © 2017 Chin.
