The driving simulator plays a key role in vehicle and traffic engineering. Vortex offers many advantages in the dynamic and visual simulation of vehicle driving simulators. However, the contradiction between the grade of virtual road discretion and the difficulty of modeling and scene rendering speed prevents its application. A new method of dynamic and visual simulation of a vehicle driving simulator combining Vortex and Vega Prime is presented. HLA (high level architecture) is adopted to realize synchronization and data communication between Vortex and Vega Prime. Vortex carries vehicle multi-body dynamic resolving, while Vega Prime is in charge of image rendering. Different resolutions of 3-D models of the same scene of the virtual proving ground are modeled for Vortex and Vega Prime, respectively. The test results reveal that the road surface disturbance can be accurately simulated, the simulation results are more accurate, the interaction between human and computer is more convenient, and the scene rendering speed is faster, which satisfies real-time interaction.
