Since the journal publicated in 1990, China Mechanical Engineering journal played an important role in the field of Chinese mechanical engineering.The development history of China Mechanical Engineering journal in the past 30 years was reviewed.The publication conditions of the research papers financed by the Division of Mechanical Engineering of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, and the developing trends and progresses of the mechanical engineering discipline were analyzed. Finally, several expectations and suggestions for the developing of the journal were also proposed. © 2020, China Mechanical Engineering Magazine Office. All right reserved.
