The UK civil aerospace industry says there are some grounds for optimism, as the country deals with the impacts of Brexit poll results. The UK aerospace sector is the second largest in the world, employing more than 110,000 people directly, along with 126,000 people in the supply chain. It provides an annual turnover of £29bn with three-quarters of revenue coming from export sales. Airbus predicts global annual air traffic growth of 4.7 per cent over the next 20 years. In anticipation of this, companies have ramped up their investment in the UK over the past few years.
