摘要
In the present paper, tribological investigations were studied on mineral oil containing zinc dialkyldithiophosphate (ZDDP), molybdenum disulphide (MoS2), and tungsten disulphide (WS2) particles with ten different combinations. To achieve homogeneous mixing, it is stirred magnetically over a magnetic stirrer maintaining constant temperature. The four-ball wear configuration was used to calculate the wear scar characteristics and mineral oil's coefficient of friction. It is observed that the lowest coefficient of friction is 0.04055, which is a combination type H. Also, observations showed that for the same combination, the minimum frictional torque is 0.073. The findings revealed that the H combination exhibited superior results in kinematic viscosity at both 40 degrees C and 100 degrees C, viscosity index, flash point, fire point, and pour point. Additionally, the coefficient of friction and wear scar diameter for the H combination were notably lower compared to the reference mineral oil (SAE 15W40).
