Two-photon process was dramatically enhanced through the use of a phase-coherent femtosecond (fs) comb resonantly exciting stepwise transitions. Quantum interference among different pathways lead to the desired information of the atomic structure, while providing an absolute reference for a complete control of the fs laser.
