Anti-chaff algorithm for seekers based on polarimetric contrast enhancement

When interference and radar's targets become undistinguishable, how to suppress centroid-interference is an acknowledged difficult problem. It is studied to suppress centroid-interference using polarimetric contrast enhancement technology. Firstly, the echo model of a polarimetric radar seeker is built under the aforementional undistinguishable circumstances. The angle measurement using the amplitude comparison mono-pulse system is derived, and the statistical characteristics of angle measurement are given. Based on the above, a method by using polarimetric contrast enhancement technology to suppress centroid-interference is proposed. Finally, the method is applied to the background of how the anti-ship missile to suppress chaff jamming centroid-interference. The performance of the method is analyzed, and the method is proved to be effective.
