摘要
This study addresses a research gap by implementing a novel methodology that combines GIS and MCDM techniques to evaluate photovoltaic (PV) potential at an urban scale, specifically within Riga, Latvia. Utilizing the AHP and MABAC methods, the research integrates technical, social, and economic criteria to rank urban districts based on their suitability for PV installations. 58 different districts were evaluated according to technical and socioeconomic criteria and were ranked through the MABAC MCDM methodology, from most preferable to less, on a PV adoption level. This comprehensive approach not only identifies the most promising areas for rooftop PV deployment but also emphasizes the importance of considering socioeconomic factors to enhance equity in renewable energy adoption. The findings provide valuable insights for urban planners and policymakers, demonstrating a systematic, data-driven method to promote sustainable energy initiatives in urban environments.
