摘要
The effects of compartment pressures in rotary air preheater to the stiffness and strength of a flexible contact seal were analyzed by using the finite element analysis software ANSYS. The common used radial seal plate with U-shaped corrugations was taken for research, in which plastic strain and large displacement of the structure were considered. The results show that if the compartment is without pressure, the current design of the seal is easy to meet the requirements for stiffness, strength and fatigue life. In fact, due to the pressure, the wall thickness of the original seal is too thin to stick up stiffly, and it is unable to achieve the desired sealing effect; if increasing the wall thickness, the stiffness will rises, so the contact friction and the run load, besides the strength condition and fatigue life are difficult to ensure. Hence, greater improvements should be made for the flexible contact seal plate. © 2012 Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering.
