摘要
The fabrication of liquid crystal and polymer dispersions (LCPD) in terrestrial environment is investigated. The systems use the thiol-ene based Norland 65 (NOA65) pre-polymer with liquid crystal E7 to produce the typical droplet morphology of polymer dispersed liquid crystals (PDLC) in microgravity and terrestrial environments. The monomer RM257 with K15 was used to produce polymer networks suspended in the liquid crystal solvents. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electro-optic measurements were used to probe the spatial morphology and the response of LCPDs to applied electric fields.
