Influences of dispersant types and concentrations on stability of graphene water-based slurry

In this paper, by the combination of dispersant and ultrasonication methods, graphene water-based slurry with 0.02% graphene mass fraction is well prepared by adding different dispersants. Through ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer, optical microscope and static sedimentation, we determined graphene's dispersion and stability in water. The experimental results show that the proper amount of dispersant and 1 h ultrasonication treatment can realize the graphene dispersion in aqueous solution.Naphthalene sulfonate water reducer has the best dispersion effect and the optimal amount is equal to graphene content. © 2016, Materials Review Magazine.
