摘要
Energy-efficient motors have a direct impact on the operating costs of a plant. Since July 2021, according to the Ecodesign Directive, the minimum requirement IE2 applies to motors of lower power, IE3 to larger motors and IE2 to frequency converters. From July 2023, IE4 will be introduced for power between 75 to 200 kW. However, the next efficiency level then can no longer be achieved on the component level, but must be considered over the entire system. Gregor Dietz, Marketing Manager of Motors at SEW Eurodrive, Chairman of the Working Group on Electric Drives of the Association of German Machinery and Plant Engineering (VDMA), Chairman of the Working Group on Three-Phase Motors of the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers Association (ZVEI) and member of the Advisory Board of the Electric Drives Department of the ZVEI, recommends that in addition, the European Sustainability Product Regulation be taken into account in view of the European level. In a talk with CITplus, he describes the technical developments and gives an insight into the current discussion around the topic of the Ecodesign Directive and regulations.
