Moving from the extraordinary impact of the pandemic crisis on people and organizations, the author puts in evidence the change of labour in relation with the growing interdependence with digital technology and between working activities, life, health and environment. Remote working and smart working will produce a strong challenge for redesigning all working activites. The transition from traditional work organization based on fordistic principles towards new forms of collaborative and participating jobs based on individual persons and their professional competences could produce improved organizational changes with growth of productivity and innovation. It requires radical transformation in labour relations and in labour contracts but overmore strong engagement in dynamic professional competences through permanent professional and interdisciplinary learning processes by each individual and by organisational structures. © 2021 Associazione Italiana per l'Informatica e il Calcolo Automatico.
