The present and future of wet end control

Pulp and paper industry investors are demnading continuously improving returns on capital employed. In response, the mills are pinning their hopes on process control to reduce operating costs and improve product quality. Major investments are made in measurement and control technology to improve productivity, eliminate sub-standard production and reduce waste. This will not reduce the increasing equipment sophistication, but it will increase the need for attention and adjustment of the control process.
