Various types of safety auditing tools used in the power industry have been discussed. Organizations need to determine their goals and objectives before implementing an appropriate safety auditing tool. The most common approach to safety auditing is workplace inspection of the condition of the facilities, equipment, and tools. Another simple and effective form of safety auditing is to conduct employee safety perception surveys. Safety auditing thus enables an organization to determine its performance against a benchmark of industrial standards.
