A high-speed linear CCD image data acquisition system was designed for color selecting of tiny particle. Two techniques were discussed about driving the CCD camera-RL 1024P and high-speed A/D conversion on CCD output signal by using image digitizer XRD98L59. The hardware description was totally realized by using Verilog language. Using ISE 4.2 software had completed this simulation of every circuit. After programming an FPGA chip and debugging the hardware circuits, the CCD image data acquisition system was realized. The design is novel and practical, and the main technical specifications have been attained. Due to its excellent properties, the system has been successfully used in color selector system to gain an ideal digital image.
