The efforts of Brussels Greenpeace, an non-governmental organization (NGO), in forest preservation, is discussed. The NGO's undercover investigations have discovered that wood used in the renovation work to rid the building of asbestos comes from rainforests in Indonesia. Greenpeace wants European Union (EU) to toughen its stance on illegal logging. Greenpeace also claimed that that forest products used in renovation of EC's Economic and Social Committee, a part of the Berlaymont complex, include wood from the Indonesian companies RSK, IKMM, AFR, Mujur and Korindo.
