摘要
TC4 titanium alloy and H62 brass, as two kinds of typical plastic materials, were studied in micro-scale grinding experiment. The surface micro-morphology was investigated by using microscope with super depth of field and three-dimensional profiler. The surface formation mechanism in micro-grinding and the effect of minimum chip thickness were analyzed theoretically. Based on the characteristics of micro-grinding, both single factor and orthogonal tests were carried out with different processing parameters. The effects of grinding parameters, such as grinding speed, grinding depth and feed speed, were investigated on the micro-grinding surface quality of the plastic materials. The effects of head diameters, grit of micro-grinding rod and grinding modes on the specimen's surface quality were also studied. The result shows that the surface roughness of ground workpiece decreases firstly and then increases with increasing the grinding depth, and the processing quality of side grinding is better than that of the groove grinding. ©, 2015, Northeastern University.
