摘要
In comparison with the solvent borne paint systems for joinery industries, the water borne systems have a better durability. However, these systems have a tendency to perform badly in an early stage after application. This can be due to a slow process of film formation, which is depending on the relative humidity and temperature. This article will describe a method to improve the early performance, such as adhesion under wet circumstances, by addition of an isocyanate. This isocyanate crosslinker is able to help the water borne primer to form a better film and, possibly, connects the binder to the wood. Further fine adjustments to the binder and also to the method of application will result in a system applicable for the joinery industries.
