The specific technology and design issues in the use of wind energy buildings are discussed. The use of Building Augmented wind turbines (BAWT), vertical axes wind turbine (VAWT) and the horizontal axes wind turbine (HAWT) is also presented. Wind turbines for the built environment exploit higher wind speeds, for this specific buildings have to be designed for different types of flow and low noise emission. It is suggested that to encourage good flow properties for wind turbine, necessary modifications of the building are required, and the wind turbine should place on top of or alongside a building.
