AS/400 has gained customer loyalty, reliability, and low total-cost-of-ownership as an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system platform. It is prompting providers in the areas of supply chain planning (SCP), customer relationship management (CRM), and business intelligent softwares. IBM has moved to C and Java architecture on the AS/400 platform for easier portability. The product lifecycle management (PLM) provides solution for acquiring customer requirements and feedback through Web-based survey technologies. Strategic planning is used to aid in decision making. New York based Information Builders are porting more business intelligence (BI) applications. VISUAL CRM integrates customer tools such as sales, call management and services.
