This paper puts forward a newly developed coalmine methane emission prediction method - The source-classification prediction method (SCPM), which is totally different from the statistic method in technical principles. Predictions verify that SCPM with the absolute value of the relative error in prediction being smaller than 20% is gifted with the merits of a wide application and a reliable prediction result and is suitable for coal mine methane emission predictions of various coal seam existing conditions and mining methods.
