CdS doped TiO2 colloid with the particle size range of 10-20 nm was obtained by Gel-Sol with Ti (SO4)2, HNO3 and CdS under microwave irradiation. Samples were characterized by UV-Vis and BET and photo-catalytic performance of CdS doped TiO2 colloid was assessed by degradation of aqueous methyl orange solution. Doping process of colloid was also discussed. Results indicated that the range of ultraviolet absorption spectrum was widened by doped CdS. BET specific surface area of TiO2 colloid doped CdS was 433.37 m2·g-1 and degradation rate of 20 mg/L methyl orange was up to 97.1% for 30 min, photocatalytic activity of TiO2 colloid was increased obviously..
