Despite global economic instability and sectoral sanctions against Russia the country's mining industry is developing positively. The competitiveness of Russian compa nies has increased in recent years, particularly as a result of the decline in value of the Ruble, modernization measures and production cost reductions. For the new decade, the Ministry for Economic Development and Trade expects an upswing with growth rate of over 3 %, which will continue to spur on the mining industry. © 2020 Bauverlag BV GmbH.
