Distributed control system (DCS), a developed technology for process control, is widely used in the construction and application of nuclear power plants. A suitable training system for operators and a powerful dynamic simulation system for experiments and trials are needed in the process of both construction and operation of nuclear power plants. Nuclear Power Institute of China developed a nuclear advanced safety platform of instrument and control (NASPIC). For further implementation of NASPIC parameters optimization, reducing on-site debugging times and NASPIC safety risks for practical use, it is necessary to design and develop a virtual DCS simulation system based on NASPIC. The paper will focus on the NASPIC and the virtual slave computer is implemented to develop virtual DCS software with high fidelity. Its control parameters and algorithm come from real DCS engineering configuration files which have the same algorithm and modules as the real DCS. Finally, the method can synchronously update with the real DCS of high fidelity. © 2018, Shanghai Jiao Tong University Press. All right reserved.
