Abstract: The article considers approaches to improving the risk assessment system based on action priority setting, which is used in the AIAG & VDA FMEA methodology. Two variants of action priority matrices are proposed, both symmetrical in terms of the number of qualitative categories for the severity, occurrence, and detection (SOD) scores. The new matrices are compared with the original matrix and with each other. The changes and their significance for risk analysis results are considered and discussed for each of the new matrices. © Allerton Press, Inc. 2024.
