To address the problem of waveform design, the periodic ambiguity function of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing(OFDM) radar signals is derived and its relationship with the modulating sequences is indicated. Multiple-period ambiguity function is further studied and the characteristics of the side-lobe are analyzed. A corresponding coherent pulse train processing method is proposed to reduce the Doppler side-lobe. Simulation results of Barker codes modulated OFDM radar signal are presented. This approach requires no direct computation of the modulated signals and the ambiguity is derived from the modulating sequence.
