The applications of polyurethane elastomer materials for the sandwich plate systems (SPS) invented by a Canadian engineer is discussed. These materials form thick elastomer layer bonding two thick steel sheets. Even in the absence of stiffeners these products are stiff and strong. Many other transport deparments in Canada and the US are preffering this product as there is a possibility of increasing service life of road infrastructures.
