摘要
Carbon nanotube-based field emission display (CNT-FED) possesses many advantages such as low operating voltage, low power consumption, low manufacturing cost, and so on. In the past decades, research and application development of CNT-FED have become one of the hot topics in the field of display technology, and considerable achievements have been accumulated. After a brief review of the mechanism of carbon nanotubes for field emission and advantages of carbon nanotubes for FED, some progress on FED research and some problems to be solved are introduced, including preparation of carbon nanotube cathode films, improvement of working stability and lifetime of carbon nanotube cathode, and the design of cathode structure. Finally, we discuss the development prospects of carbon nanotubes for FED. © 2017, Materials Review Magazine. All right reserved.
