摘要
Ultra high voltage (UHV) half-wave-length alternating current (AC) transmission is a high available transmission capacity (ATC) and long distance power transmission technology and has a wide application prospects in China. Insulation coordination is the foundation for the engineering application of half-wave-length alternating AC transmission (HWACT). Firstly, the steady state voltage along HWACT line is calculated based on transmission line model; then the specific creepage distance (SCD) is applied in the research on insulation configuration for HWACT line. The air gap spacing for power frequency voltage of HWACT line is determined by calculating the value of 50% discharge voltage; finally the values of air gap spacing corresponding to switching overvoltage and lightning overvoltage respectively are recommended. Results of this research are available for reference to technical support for the implementation of UHV HWACT.
