Evolution of texture during rolling and annealing of 3004 aluminium alloy

The evolution of textures of 3004 aluminium alloy during hot rolling, cold rolling and annealing has been investigated by means of orientation distribution functions (ODFs). The results show that the major texture type is (100) [uvw] and the rotated cube orientation {100} is strongest in the hot-rolled plate. During cold rolling the textures are the typical copper-type feature and the deformation textures became stronger as the reduction is increased. Finally, the cold rolling textures are composed of S-, Cu and Bs-components. During the annealing, the textures become mainly the cube annealing R/S copper components. The intensities of recrystallization cube texture {001} are stronger after annealing at 300°C and 400°C. However after annealing at 100°C and 200°C, intensities of recrystallization cube texture {001} are weak while intensities of recrystallization texture R/S {124} and C{112} become strong.
