MEMS based micro proton exchange membrane fuel cells

摘要
The basic working principles of Micro Proton-Exchange-Membrane Fuel Cell (μPEMFC) were firstly introduced. Then, according to state-of-the-art in μPEMFC, the MEMS based manufacturing technologies of the micro flow field and membrane electrode assembly, as well as the related key techniques and the bottleneck problems in these processes were discussed. The major technologies of micro-assembly and system level integration of μPEMFC were analyzed in detail. Research directions and reasonable solutions for system reliability and selection between active and passive management modes of μPEMFC were also presented. Finally, the potential applications in related field of the MEMS based μPEMFC are proposed and summarized with the help of several successful examples.
