A hierarchical geometry model and a motion model of milling machining center are proposed based on the analysis of the assembly feature and motion characteristics of a machining center. The method of coordination description for motion model is presented and a virtual prototype of NC milling machining center is built. The simulation method is easy to describe the structure of virtual device and show the simulation process of motion.
