摘要
In order to better evaluate the beam combination and the character of combined beams, all the exsisting evaluating standards for beam quality are analyzed, and their disadvantages are also discussed. A new conception named generalized beam quality (GBQ) is advanced to measure the beam quality of combined beams. Compared with other beam quality parameters, GBQ has many advantages on physical concept, feasibility and measurement in the project.
