To carry out practical hazards assessment of DC arc-fault in photovoltaic system; an arc combustion critical condition analysis method is put forward in this study. According to the arc-fault waveforms in the DC side of photovoltaic system measured on the experimental platform; the DC characteristics were analyzed firstly. Referring the hazards evaluation analysis of other DC source arc-fault in existing standards; the critical conditions of DC arc combustion in photovoltaic system are derived; which is proved to be effective by the results of simulation and experiment. Considering the high risk of parallel arc-fault in photovoltaic system; a feasible scheme to extinguish parallel arc in photovoltaic power station is finally proposed based on the previous method. © 2020; Solar Energy Periodical Office Co; Ltd.
