Nuclear polarization (NP) energy shifts in muonic208Pb utilizing the concept of effective photon propagators with nuclear-polarization insertions were calculated. The ladder, cross and seagull terms of the two-photon exchange diagrams were evaluated in both the Feynman and Coulomb gauges. The present nuclear-polarization energies were able to explain about half of the anomaly in the δ2p fine-structure splitting energy.
