摘要
Arsenic-contaminated drinking water is a critical concern worldwide and is threatening to health. In porous materials, metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are advanced materials for capturing and removing arsenic in various ionic forms. This review discusses using porous MOFs and COFs to remove arsenic. The insights into the MOFs/COFs design, mechanisms, and responsible interactions for particular arsenic ions removal applications are discussed. After this, cutting-edge information regarding surface structural engineering of MOFs/COFs for developing highly effective capturing is presented to provide valuable insights into the promising role of porous frameworks in addressing pressing global challenges related to water quality and ecological sustainability.
