摘要
Computer aided engineering or virtual prototyping provided a means to determine the forces acting in the luffing cylinder before the crane was actually built. This permitted the deduction of the required dimensions for the luffing cylinder. The virtual prototype enabled research to be carried out on the effects of extreme situations without endangering a costly machine or personnel and also the design changes can be easily implemented.
